DeepL has introduced its new LLM Language AI solution, a milestone in artificial intelligence translation quality. This innovation, which claims to offer better quality translations than GPT-4, aims to strengthen DeepL’s position in the industry. Serving more than 100,000 companies worldwide, including half of the Fortune 500, DeepL sets the bar for translation and language technology.
What does DeepL’s new LLM offer?
DeepL aims to improve translation quality and accuracy with its new generation language model. The company describes this new solution, supported by LLM technology, as a turning point for businesses. Jarek Kutylowski, CEO and Founder of DeepL, said:

DeepL’s new language model offers significant improvements in translation quality
First, the model leverages an LLM specifically designed for the language, reducing the risk of misinformation and providing human-like translation for a variety of use cases. Second, it creates content using proprietary data and leverages proprietary data collected over more than seven years. Finally, focusing on translation quality, DeepL leverages thousands of linguists to train the model. This minimizes the risk of mistranslation and delivers more accurate translations.
DeepL’s new model is preferred over Google Translate, ChatGPT-4 and Microsoft’s solutions in blind tests. Language experts preferred DeepL’s translations 1.3 times more than Google Translate, 1.7 times more than ChatGPT-4 and 2.3 times more than Microsoft. These results show how ambitious DeepL is in terms of translation quality. Moreover, this new solution offers more accurate translations based on AI models tuned specifically for the language.
For now, DeepL’s next generation model is available in English, Japanese, German and Simplified Chinese. Other languages are planned to be added in the near future. The company aims to meet the language needs of businesses with new solutions such as DeepL for Enterprise. In addition, DeepL has received an investment of $300 million at a valuation of $2 billion led by Index Ventures, supporting its growth ambitions.
