Qualcomm is preparing to take the laptop market by storm with its new Snapdragon X series chipsets. Judging by the latest details, the company could attract a large user base with its price/performance chips for entry-level devices. What are the features and innovations of the new chips?
Three new Snapdragon X-series chipsets for sub-$600 laptops
First of all, the newly introduced Snapdragon X models are designed for laptops priced below $600. According to various sources, this series includes chips codenamed X1P-24-100, X1P-39-100 and X1P-40-100. With these chips, Qualcomm plans to offer a superior quality experience even for entry-level devices.
Interestingly, the new chips will offer the same artificial intelligence power as the 45 TOPS capacity NPU (Neural Processing Unit) found in the previously introduced Snapdragon X Plus and Snapdragon X Elite models. In other words, the AI processing capacity of the devices can go to a very advanced level. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon X series already has a wide range of products. For example:
X1E Series: With its 12-core structure, it offers a maximum speed of 4.3 GHz, while it will definitely be high-performance with 4.6 TFLOPS GPU power.
X1P Series: Appeals to entry-level devices with a lower core count. With a maximum processor speed of 3.4 GHz, these models will be ideal for price/performance oriented users.
In recent days, there has been talk that the new Snapdragon X series will seriously dominate the entry-level laptop market. Devices equipped with these chips will be released abroad for less than $600. In our country, it is a little difficult to predict which bands the prices will follow for the time being. For example, models such as the Surface Pro 11 have a price tag of $800 abroad, while Snapdragon X series devices will be able to offer similar performance at a more affordable cost.
So, what do you think about the new Snapdragon X series? Will such devices be powerful enough for entry-level users? You can share your opinions in the comments section below.
