Palworld, also known as Armed Pokemon, has seen an unprecedented rise after its release. After outpacing iconic games like PUBG and CS 2, the game has seen a sharp drop in player numbers in just two weeks.
Palworld player count drops by 1.3 million
Palworld, developed by Pocketpair, reached its peak player count on January 27th. With more than 2 million concurrent players on Steam, it managed to outpace many other games. But just two weeks later, on February 10, the number of concurrent players dropped by 1.3 million to 757,000.
In fact, it’s understandable that a game’s player numbers would drop slightly after the excitement of its launch. But the magnitude of Palworld’s decline and the fact that it lost 1.3 million players in just a few weeks is remarkable.
By comparison, the Battle Royale game PUBG had a record number of concurrent players of more than 3 million. However, it managed to hold that number for about four months and now has between 200,000 and 400,000 players.
Despite the big drop, Palworld has more than 700,000 daily players. Since it can also be played on Xbox and Game Pass, it is possible to say that the total number of players is more than 1 million. However, it seems that Pocketpair needs a comprehensive update to maintain its popularity.
