Another live service game has collapsed before our eyes: Sony’s highly anticipated new game Concord for PC gamers has officially crashed the week it was released. The game ‘s servers resemble deserted towns in the wild west. Here are the details…

Concord, which Sony has been working on for many years and released with great anticipation, has unfortunately been a disappointment. Released on August 20, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC, the game had a disappointing start with only 697 players on Steam . This number is quite low for a live service game and shows that the future of the game is not bright.

Concord’s standard edition, which launched on August 23, struggled to increase player numbers even in its first weekend, according to SteamDB data.

While a surge in players is usually expected during the first weekend, Concord has not lived up to expectations. On Saturday, August 24, the game’s current player count dropped to 473, and then dropped to 402 the following day. As of this writing, only 96 people are playing the game on Steam.

PS5 Pro surprise from Sony: Wait for the State of Play!

PS5 Pro could be revealed soon! The new and powerful console is expected to take the stage at Sony's State of Play event.

Sony’s other live service game, Helldivers 2, reached 155,000 players when it was released in February 2024. In addition, The Finals was a huge success with 242,000 concurrent players. Even Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which was considered a major flop by Warner Bros., had a much better start than Concord with 12,000 players.

In light of this data, Concord’s failure becomes even more apparent. The game’s initial player count is only 5 percent of Suicide Squad’s. Under these circumstances, the plug on the production could be pulled much sooner than expected.
