DJI Avata 360 Arrives with 8K Resolution and 360-Degree Camera

Ana sayfa / News

Drone technology has gained incredible momentum in recent years; however, the industry has struggled to move beyond repetitive iterations—until today. The DJI Avata 360, which has dominated tech headlines with months of leaks, is finally becoming official.

Latest promotional videos and leaks confirm that this new device, set to be unveiled in China on March 26, 2026, and in global markets during the first weeks of April, is far more than a standard FPV (First Person View) drone. So, what makes the DJI Avata 360 so special?

8K Global Video and a Hybrid Camera System

The biggest game-changer is undoubtedly the camera module at the heart of the device. According to leaks, the DJI Avata 360 houses dual 1/1.1-inch massive CMOS sensors. This hardware enables the drone to record 360-degree spherical video at 8K resolution at 60 frames per second (8K/60fps).

This allows content creators to fly without worrying about framing in real-time; the “fly first, frame later” logic ensures the entire environment is captured, allowing the desired angle to be selected during post-production. The real engineering marvel lies in the physical structure: mounted on a tiltable custom gimbal, this dual-lens system can switch to traditional FPV mode with a single button, transforming from a spherical observer into an aggressive racing drone in seconds.

O4 Transmission and an Unstoppable Shield

DJI has evolved the “Cinewhoop” style protective design inherent in the Avata series. Featuring fully spherical propeller guards, the device is armored both physically and via software:

Aggressive Pricing: A Blow to the Insta360 Antigravity A1

DJI is not just putting on a technological show; it is implementing an aggressive pricing policy to dominate the market. Leaked retail data from Europe suggests the “Drone Only” price starts at 459 Euros (roughly $450-$499 for the US market). The Premium Combo, including Goggles N3 and the RC 2 controller, is expected to be around 1,159 Euros.

This strategy directly targets its biggest rival, the Insta360 Antigravity A1, which carries a price tag of over $1,500. With its ecosystem advantage and a price nearly 50% lower, the Avata 360 is poised for massive success.

With a 25-minute flight time and a weight approaching 400 grams, this drone is set to rewrite the rules of aerial cinematography. Would you prefer the versatility of a 360-degree drone over a traditional FPV setup? Share your thoughts in the comments!
