DJI has unveiled new models for the 10th anniversary of the Ronin line of cameras and accessories. The new gimbal models, called DJI RS 4 and RS 4 Pro, promise professional-level camera stabilization. It also brings significant improvements in terms of battery and usability.
Are the DJI RS 4 and RS 4 Pro the best?
The new DJI RS 4 is aimed specifically at individual content creators. Weighing just 1.4 kg, it can carry cameras weighing up to 3 kg. Compared to the RS 3, it features upgraded axis locks and a wider tilt range for better vertical shots.
It also features an auto-locking touchscreen and Bluetooth remote control. DJI said it uses the BG21 battery with 18W fast charging support. This battery charges in 2.5 hours and offers up to 12 hours of use. The new RS BG70 battery, which offers up to 30 hours of use, will also be sold.
The RS 4 Pro model will appeal more to professional film crews and studios. The new gimbal can carry cameras up to 4.5 kg. It also features LiDAR autofocus and Next-Gen ActiveTrack Pro.
Dual focus and zoom motors allow simultaneous control of both functions. Other new features include optimized stabilization for vehicle shots and a fourth-generation RS stabilization algorithm.
Pricing starts at $549 for the DJI RS 4 and $869 for the RS 4 Pro. DJI said it will start selling the new gimbal models in the coming weeks.
