Donald Trump Jr.’s account on platform X was hacked early Wednesday morning. Among a series of offensive tweets sent from the account was a misleading message claiming the death of his father, former U.S. President Donald Trump.
“I’m sad to announce, my father Donald Trump has passed away. I will be running for president in 2024,” read the first message from Don Jr.’s account, posted at 8:25 a.m.
To prove he was still alive, the former president sent an unrelated message on his own rival platform, Truth Social, at 8:46 a.m. — more than 20 minutes after the fake death announcement.
A series of obviously hacked messages quickly followed on Don Jr.’s account. One of them said, “North Korea is about to get smoked,” while another contained a false statement pretending to show Don Jr. saying he had “some interesting messages with Jeffrey Epstein,” who died more than four years ago in his Manhattan cell.
Other tweets on his account included “F–k Joe Biden,” referring to him as a “stupid” n-word, and another claiming that crypto personality Richard Heart, who was accused of stealing $12 million from investors, is innocent.
The Trump Organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment early Wednesday.
