Dream Router 5G Max: Ubiquiti’s tri-band WiFi router gets serious with 5G

Ana sayfa / News

Ubiquiti has just pulled the curtain back on the Dream Router 5G Max a new networking device that blends high-end wireless performance with built-in 5G support. Designed for flexibility and futureproofing, this router ticks every modern box, from tri-band WiFi to eSIM functionality.

At the heart of the Dream Router 5G Max is a tri-band setup, spreading connectivity across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. That last one taps into WiFi 7 territory giving users the potential to unlock faster speeds and reduced congestion in compatible environments.

While full technical specs are still under wraps, the tri-band support positions this router as a serious step forward in Ubiquiti’s lineup.

Homey Pro Mini brings smart home flexibility to Europe

The Homey Pro Mini smart home hub is now available across Europe, with Matter, Thread, and Zigbee support via Epic Games Store.

True to its name, this new Dream Router supports 5G cellular connections with both traditional SIM cards and eSIMs. Users can assign 5G as a failover option or rely on it as the primary internet source.

Alongside the cellular features, there are four RJ45 ports on board. It’s not yet confirmed if any support multi-gigabit speeds, but the inclusion of an SFP port hints at enterprise-grade potential. With the right transceiver, users can connect fiber-optic lines directly ideal for business setups or high-demand home networks.

Because this router runs UniFi OS, users can take advantage of UniFi apps directly on the device. For this, it includes a microSD card slot to handle video storage or system files. And yes, there’s a built-in display showing network health, throughput, and signal quality at a glance.

While the device is official, you won’t find it in Ubiquiti’s store at the moment. No pricing or release window has been announced either. For now, the Dream Router 5G Max remains a promising but unavailable addition to Ubiquiti’s growing lineup of connected gear.

And when it does drop, expect demand to spike fast. This isn’t just another router; it’s a whole new playbook.
