TikTok has announced its new program where you can earn money by creating filters. Thanks to this new feature, which has a budget of 6 million dollars, designers will be able to earn money by creating filters. TikTok will both create a new method of making money over social media and provide content diversity for its own platforms.

A separate income stream will be provided on the platform with this new program called “Effect Creator Rewards“. Users participating in this program will market the filters or effects they produce in accordance with the principle of augmented reality through users. TikTok will pay the filter designer 700 dollars if a filter is used in 500,000 videos. The 500,000 video rule may seem challenging when you first hear it. However, considering that the platform is used all over the world, it is actually not very difficult.

Additional payments

After the user who made the filter exceeds the 500,000 video limit, they will receive an additional payment of 140 dollars for every 100,000 videos. Roughly calculated, an effect used in 1 million videos will earn the designer 1400 dollars. The budget of the program is currently 6 million dollars. So, the budget will be exhausted when about 4300 filters are used in one million videos each. TikTok did not announce whether it will allocate a new budget after the budget is exhausted.

At the end of its announcement, TikTok added one more rule. Even if users shoot thousands of videos with the same effect in a day, the platform will consider this as 1 video. So even if you shoot 500,000 videos from your fake account with the effect you made, those shot on the same day will be counted as 1 video for the platform. The feature is currently available in the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. It is unknown whether the program will come to other countries and Turkey.
