In recent years, many people have started making significant amounts of money by creating content on the internet. One of the biggest sources for content creators in this regard is YouTube, of course. The company has announced great news for those who want to make money from YouTube.
YouTube makes it easier for people to earn money
YouTube announced that it has reduced the requirements to earn money from content. Today, YouTube announced that the requirements for earning money from videos uploaded through the YouTube Partner Program in 2023 have been significantly lowered, both for regular videos and Shorts content.
YouTube’s new requirements for monetization in 2023 have changed as of today. Content creators will now be able to earn money from YouTube with fewer views and video counts.
The requirements for earning money by creating content on YouTube in 2023 are as follows:
- Videos
- 500 subscribers
- Upload 3 valid videos within 90 days
- 3,000 watch hours in the past year
- Shorts
- 3 million Shorts views in the last 90 days
Previously, YouTube required 1,000 subscribers, 4,000 watch hours, and/or 10 million Shorts views to monetize content. The new requirements significantly lower these numbers and offer content creators the opportunity to earn money through their videos at an earlier stage of channel creation.
YouTube announced that the minimum requirements for monetization initially apply to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea. YouTube, which aims to bring more content into its platform, may extend its new policy to other countries in the future.
By lowering the minimum requirements, YouTube will help content creators earn money much more easily. So, what do you think about making money from YouTube? You can share your opinions in the comments section.
