Honeycomb has launched the Echo Aviation Controller, a $150 gamepad-style flight controller built for serious sim fans who want precision without the full cockpit setup. It’s tailored for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and X-Plane, and it’s packed with hardware and profiles to back that up.
Echo Aviation Controller offers flight sim control without the desk clutter
Flight simulators usually demand space—yokes, pedals, and throttles don’t exactly travel well. The Echo Aviation Controller flips that script. It’s a compact, all-in-one unit designed for use on the go, with Hall effect sensors for both the main stick and rudder controls.
That alone makes it more durable than the average controller, with less chance of drift or wear. But Honeycomb goes further, bundling accessories and customization tools to fine-tune the experience.
Echo Aviation Controller supports MSFS 2024 and X-Plane
The device is currently compatible with:
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024
- X-Plane 11 and 12
- Prepar3D (Lockheed Martin)
To make setup easier, Honeycomb offers six downloadable profiles for Flight Simulator 2024, including:
- Single-engine aircraft
- Twin-engine planes
- Four-engine aircraft
- Boeing 737 Max
- Airbus A320 Neo
- General-use profile
Configuration in MSFS is notoriously tedious, so these profiles help bypass that grind—though they don’t support other sims just yet.
Echo Aviation Controller includes high-end extras in the box
For $150, buyers get more than just the controller:
- A carrying case similar to the one for the Xbox Elite
- A 2.4GHz dongle for wireless play
- Swappable lever sets for jets and prop planes
The levers attach to the top of the controller, mimicking throttle and flap systems found in full-size setups. It’s a clever modular solution that adds realism without adding bulk.
Echo Aviation Controller is still PC-only; console version coming
Right now, the Echo is only compatible with PC and Mac systems. A console version is in development and expected sometime in 2026, though Honeycomb hasn’t confirmed which consoles will be supported. Given Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 recently landed on PlayStation 5, that detail will matter.
Until then, the Echo Aviation Controller is available exclusively from Honeycomb’s website, with no listings yet at major retailers.
