Electric vehicle sales are increasing

Ana sayfa / News

Global electric vehicle sales showed a 21% increase by November 2025 compared to the same period last year. According to the latest report by Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, 2 million vehicles were sold worldwide in November alone, bringing the total for the year to 18.5 million units.

The European market is leading this growth, but the North American market is experiencing a serious slowdown due to the end of federal tax incentives. China, with a total of 11.6 million sales, holds the title of the world’s largest electric vehicle market by a wide margin.

The European region became the epicenter of global growth with a 36% year-on-year jump in November 2025. Fully electric vehicle sales in the region increased by 35%, while plug-in hybrid sales rose by 39%.

With this increase, total sales in Europe reached 3.8 million units in the first eleven months of the year. France, after a decline for much of the year following the end of stimulus measures, rebounded in November with a 1% growth.

The social leasing program for low-income households and new models from Volkswagen and Renault directly triggered this recovery. Italy, meanwhile, recorded its highest-ever monthly sales figure with 25,000 units sold.

The opposite is true in the United States. With federal tax credits ending on September 30, 2025, the market experienced a significant slowdown. While brands like Kia and Hyundai showed some monthly recovery in November, overall volumes remained far below the stimulus period.

In China, while the growth rate was slower than the global average, the figures maintained their leading position. November sales in the country increased by 3% year-on-year, while total year-on-year sales rose by 19% to 11.6 million units.
