Ana sayfa / Cars

The electrification trend in the automotive market continues unabated. While many manufacturers that have traditionally presented internal combustion engine vehicles are adapting to the trend by introducing electric vehicles (EVs), they are also taking steps to eventually cease production of models with fossil fuels. With the increasing number of electric vehicles in the market, there is a focus on charging solutions. Recently, the Volkswagen Group announced that it will use Tesla’s NACS connector (North American Charging Standard).

According to a report shared by The Verge, Volkswagen Group is joining the ranks of car manufacturers that will use Tesla’s NACS connector. The company recently stated that it is researching adapter solutions for current electric vehicle owners to access Tesla’s Supercharger network and mentioned that significant developments in this regard could occur by 2025.

Additionally, starting from 2025, models produced by the Volkswagen Group will come off the production line with Tesla-compatible charging ports. This means that we will see the signature of Elon Musk’s Tesla on Volkswagen Group brands such as Volkswagen, Porsche, and Audi.

This is not the only company adopting the connector design known as NACS, developed and trademarked by Tesla in 2012. Several other automakers, including Ford and General Motors, have previously announced that they will use the Tesla NACS connector in their electric vehicles produced from 2025 onwards.
