Elon Musk made big claims to investors at a meeting this week. He said that Optimus, the humanoid robot developed by Tesla, will add great value to the company. He even announced that Tesla could be valued 43 times thanks to the Optimus robot.
Will Musk’s Tesla value be 25 trillion dollars?
Speaking at the Tesla meeting, Musk said he believes that Tesla will gain great value with Optimus. He even claimed that the company value could increase to 25 trillion dollars. Tesla, whose current market value is 580 billion dollars, can experience a 43-fold increase accordingly.
For comparison, the entire S&P 500 is worth about $45.5 trillion today. It should also be noted that the most valuable company is Apple with $3.28 trillion. This shows how ambitious Elon Musk’s goal is.
Musk explained that Optimus will be able to perform human tasks such as cooking, cleaning and training. Most importantly, he said, robots could take over dangerous and repetitive factory jobs. This means it can be used in the mass production of Tesla cars.
Optimus production is scheduled to start next year. But to reach the value Musk envisions, Optimus needs to be a leader in both commercial and consumer robots. Since it is still a small market, it needs to exceed all expectations.
Elon Musk admitted that he is optimistic about the timeline for Optimus. Experts say there are many challenges in realizing human-level robotics. In addition, investors believe that Tesla can reach a maximum of 8 trillion dollars.
