There has been turmoil between Hollywood and Silicon Valley over Elon Musk. Blade Runner 2049 production company Alcon Entertainment has filed a lawsuit against Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk, accusing them of using the film’s atmospheric visuals without permission. The lawsuit will focus on Tesla’s robotaxi promotion event.

Blade Runner 2049 production company Alcon Entertainment has sued Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk for allegedly using the film’s visuals without permission. According to the lawsuit, Tesla’s partner Warner Bros. had requested permission to use material from Blade Runner 2049 at an event held on October 10th where the robotaxi was introduced.

Alcon denied this request, but claims that Tesla and the event organizers created promotional visuals using artificial intelligence inspired by the film’s dystopian world.

Alcon, on the other hand, accused Tesla, Musk and Warner Bros. of unjust enrichment by implying a connection between the production company and Tesla. The petition drew attention to the fact that the financial dimension of unauthorized use of intellectual property is important.

Huawei achieved a first in 5.5G technology

Huawei has announced that it has reached a major milestone for 5G-Advanced (5G-A) or 5.5G, the next step in 5G.

Tesla and Musk have previously made references to the Blade Runner series when introducing products such as the Cybertruck. However, Alcon emphasized that it specifically rejected the request to use any elements from Blade Runner 2049 at the robotaxi event.

Neither Tesla nor Warner Bros. have made a statement regarding the lawsuit yet. If Alcon’s claims are true, the unauthorized use of intellectual property could cost Musk dearly.
