Here’s why Elon Musk bought Twitter!

Ana sayfa / News

Elon Musk surprised many last year when he acquired the Twitter platform for a staggering $44 billion, seemingly outside his expertise area. The true reason behind this move came to light recently. According to Kurt Wagner’s upcoming book “Battle for the Bird,” Musk had requested former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal to suspend the account of a user who was tracking his private jet. However, Agrawal refused to comply.

As per information in the book, infuriated by the refusal, Musk began purchasing a substantial amount of Twitter shares shortly after the incident. Within a short span of 3 months, he acquired approximately 10% stake in the company. Subsequently, the renowned entrepreneur attempted to buy Twitter outright, achieving his goal in October.

After the acquisition, Musk claimed to value freedom of expression greatly and stated that he wouldn’t ban the user tracking his private jet. However, just a month later, he did the opposite and suspended the account of the said user.

Wagner’s “Battle for the Bird” book, which will include these events and more, is set to be released on February 20. Neither Musk nor Agrawal has commented on the allegations mentioned in the book. However, only time will tell what the future holds.
