Samsung has officially decided to end update support for the Galaxy S20 series as of April 7, 2025. This decision came into effect with the publication of the company’s April security update plan. The Galaxy S20 series was launched in 2020 and was supported with both Android and One UI updates for approximately 4 years.
Samsung has cut off update support for Galaxy S20 series
The Galaxy S20 series includes the following models:
- Galaxy S20
- Galaxy S20 5G
- Galaxy S20+
- Galaxy S20+ 5G
- Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G
These phones will no longer receive any software updates, including monthly or quarterly security patches. According to Samsung’s previous update policy, flagship models typically receive four major Android updates and five years of security support. The Galaxy S20 series has now completed this cycle.

Models receiving quarterly updates:
- Galaxy S20 FE series

- Galaxy A series (A13 through A36)
- Galaxy M series
- Galaxy F series
- Galaxy Tab S series
- Various other models
Models receiving biannual updates:
- W22 5G
- Galaxy A22 series
- Galaxy A03 series
- Galaxy M21 2021
