Data on electric vehicle charging stations in the US has been collected. The data collected to improve the EV charging experience reveals that there are still major problems. So will the charging problem of electric cars not be solved? Here is the answer to all of these…
Electric vehicles continue to be on the agenda with the charging problem!
With the introduction of electric cars into our lives, many companies have installed highly advanced charging stations in various areas. However, the solution to the first problem on everyone’s mind has not yet been found. While internal combustion vehicles can fill their fuel tanks in seconds, this situation takes a little longer for electric vehicles. When system problems, connection problems, and station occupancy information errors are added, charging an electric car becomes a complete torture. The data confirms this.
A study including data on 20 thousand EV stations in the US was published today. In the study conducted by ChargerHelp, four years of data from 20 thousand stations were collected. According to the data, it was revealed that the operating status of 26 percent of the stations could not be stated correctly. It was also revealed that the actual operating time reported by network providers was 73.7 percent, not 84.6 percent.
This data brings us to the following conclusions. A station we look at on the internet appears to be online but is offline 26 percent of the time. In addition, the working hours of the stations are approximately 27 percent low. But the problems do not end there.
When the EV stations, which are the subject of the research, are examined, it was also reported that the charging stations will not last very long. Because electric vehicles approaching the station can crush the cables. The cable tip is damaged during the connection. Station screens break and damage occurs in the station cabin. If you add to all this the connection times that are extended due to the internet and the system, the charging queue at the station, and incorrect parking between two stations, you can understand why electric car sales in Europe have decreased so much.
For now, electric vehicles are not getting the desired attention due to charging and range problems. If manufacturers do not solve these problems, we can say that we will witness the superiority of vehicles with internal combustion engines for a long time. What do you think about this? Let’s meet in the comments.
