Amid rumours that the Exynos 2600 chipset was cancelled due to alleged production problems with 2 nm lithography, a surprise statement came from a Samsung spokesperson. The company has officially answered rumours about its new flagship mobile chip. Here are the details
Samsung continues to work on Exynos 2600
A Samsung spokesperson, in a conversation with Android Headlines, gave the following answer regarding whether the new chipset has been cancelled: ‘I can say that the alleged cancellation of production of the Exynos 2600 is not true and is based on unfounded rumours.’
Despite this, the brand’s representative did not comment on possible problems with 2 nm lithography. This could be true, given not only the difficulties the brand has experienced with older production processes, but also the difficulties with the recently launched 3 nm solution.
Problematic or not, Samsung seems to have no plans to give up the Exynos 2600 chipset at the moment. This move by the company is considered an important and understandable step to reduce spending with increasingly expensive rival processors.
If the chip, which is expected to be included in the Galaxy S26 series in 2026, cannot compete with competing options, it seems likely that Samsung will adopt a stance similar to previous generations. In such a possibility, this processor can offer a good price-performance experience by equipping premium intermediate models, such as the Galaxy S24 FE.
At the moment, we are still far away from the launch of the Exynos 2600 chip. Until 2026, many positive or negative changes may occur.
So what do you think about this?
