Facebook’s parent company Meta announced that it has optimized the social media platform for users aged 18-29. Within the scope of the update that will affect the 20-year-old application from top to bottom, it was stated that Facebook will be much more personal.

Facebook Vice President Tom Alison revealed the new goals of the social media platform. Accordingly, the company’s artificial intelligence capabilities and product updates will focus on re-popularizing Facebook among young users.

Alison stated that young user participation on Facebook has reached the highest point in the last three years. In this context, she stated that there are more than 40 million active users between the ages of 18-29 in the US and Canada alone. She emphasized that more time is spent on the platform thanks to the renewed video content, Reels and the new vertical video player.

The new AI recommendations allow Facebook to suggest better content on Reels and the video player. The company also said it is testing advanced AI models that learn from large data sets to strengthen video recommendations.
