Fan-made Silent Hill 2 remake is out!

Konami has been working on the Silent Hill 2 Remake project for a long time. The horror game, which is expected to be released in the coming months, has made a surprise return. A player has released Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition 1.0, which he has been maintaining for nearly seven years

Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition version 1.0 released

Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition 1.0 addresses many of the issues with the game released in 2001. Major enhancements in the Enhanced Edition include high-resolution graphics, widescreen support, 60 FPS per second gameplay, and mouse and controller compatibility fixes.

The player has also made some accessibility improvements, with support for enlarged fonts for readability. It’s worth noting that texture and overlay improvements have been implemented, as well as revamped flashlight and water reflections.

The latest update pack fills in environmental gaps in the game and fixes remaining 3D bugs. It brings 60 FPS playback, especially for animated cutscenes. The all-volunteer project is available for free access.

Of course, we should not forget that Konami is preparing a real remake experience. Developed by Bloober Team, the remake will be talked about not only in graphics but also in game mechanics. Preserving the spirit of the original game, it will use all the possibilities offered by today’s technology.

The game will also feature a completely remastered soundtrack. Composer Akira Yamaoka recreated the soundtrack for the remake. The new soundtrack, which will last 9 hours in total, will give you goosebumps every moment of the game.
