Square Enix continues to expand the Final Fantasy universe. Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis, the new mobile game of the legendary role-playing series, was officially introduced. The game will be released for iOS and Android on September 7.
Pre-registration for Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis has started
First announced in 2021 alongside the battle royale game Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier, Ever Crisis was originally scheduled for release in 2022, but was delayed due to delays in development. Closed beta testing for the game began in July.
Ever Crisis will retell the story of FF7 from 1997, allowing players to experience iconic moments. It will also include stories from The First Soldier and stories from when the characters were young. This makes people who have played FF7 and The First Soldier even more excited.
According to Square Enix, the mobile game is based on the Active Time Battle system from Final Fantasy 7, but optimized for mobile devices. This means that touch controls will be easier.
The game’s art style will also use chibi-style character models, reminiscent of the original FF7. Ever Crisis was realized by Applibot, a company that includes Final Fantasy legends such as Kazushige Nojima, Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura.

The game will be free-to-play. However, based on impressions from the closed beta, it is expected to feature gacha-style monetization for weapons and other items. Players can pre-register on the App Store and Google Play Store before the launch on September 7th.
