Recent cyberattacks continue to shake the gaming world deeply: This time, the target was Game Freak, the creator of the Pokemon series. As a result of the cyberattack on the company, information about unreleased projects and games in development has been leaked. Details about the new Pokemon game, which players have been waiting for a long time, as well as details regarding Pokemon games coming to PC, have also surfaced.
The new Pokemon game will be similar to Splatoon!
One of the most striking leaks is a new multiplayer Pokemon project codenamed ‘Synapse’… Also referred to as ‘Codename Rodeo’ in some sources, this mysterious project is inspired by Nintendo’s popular game Splatoon. While it was initially thought to be an MMO, reliable leak source Centro Leaks has denied this claim.
One of the most interesting aspects of the project is Game Freak’s collaboration with the ILCA studio, which previously worked on Pokemon Home and the Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl projects. As a sign of this new partnership, the establishment of a new subsidiary called ‘Poke Works’ near ILCA is also noteworthy.
While there are no definitive details about Synapse’s gameplay mechanics, leaked files containing the word ‘kaiwa’ (meaning conversation in Japanese) suggest that dialogue and interaction will play an important role in the game. The game is expected to offer a match-based experience similar to Splatoon.
Now for the exciting PC-related news… Perhaps the most surprising part of the leaks is the revelation of the Pokemon Legends Arceus and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl PC versions. Although these versions were prepared for internal development processes, they are significant as they show that Pokemon games can run on the PC platform.
Game Freak has yet to make an official statement regarding the leaks, but the company is expected to officially announce these projects in the near future.
