Apple’s users in South Korea are facing a peculiar issue. The “Find My” iPhone service, which helps users locate their lost devices, is unavailable in Korea. All users in the country are currently awaiting an explanation.

Recent reports indicate that users trying to use the Find My iPhone function in South Korea are only seeing a blank screen. When the Find My function is activated on iPhones sold in Korea, the “Contacts” option appears briefly and then disappears, preventing users from sharing their location with family and friends. Furthermore, these devices cannot use location sharing and Find My iPhone features even when they are abroad.

Initially, Korean users suspected that the issue might be due to map data export restrictions or local regulations. However, inquiries by SBS to authorities like the Korea Communications Commission revealed that there are no laws or policies restricting this service. Due to this uncertainty, some users have begun to demand an explanation from Apple by organizing solo protests and submitting a petition to the parliament. This petition garnered over 1,200 signatures within a day.
