Lunar Lake will come with 9 different models and include a Core 9 Ultra processor
Details have surfaced about Intel’s eagerly awaited next-generation processor family, Lunar Lake. According to the leaks, the Lunar Lake family will feature nine different models, one of which will be named Core 9 Ultra.
Recently, Intel announced its intention to produce new artificial intelligence-focused models under the Core Ultra branding, promising significantly enhanced daily usage power and AI processing capabilities compared to Intel Core series processors.
The most notable feature of the new generation processors will be Intel’s new naming scheme, “Core Ultra.” This new naming aims to better distinguish Intel’s performance and efficiency-focused processors. Among the models to be released, the Core 9 Ultra will serve as the flagship processor designed for the most demanding applications and tasks.
According to the leaks, the new Ultra Lake series will target entry and mid-level devices, striking a good balance between performance and energy consumption. It will utilize the new Arc technology named Battlemage GPU, based on the Xe2-LPG architecture for graphics processing. Lunar Lake processors will come with non-upgradeable 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5-8533 memory.
Leaked information suggests that Core Ultra 5 226V will offer a 17W base power and up to 30W maximum turbo power, with performance cores reaching speeds up to 4.5 GHz. The flagship Core Ultra 9 288V is expected to push boundaries with a 30W base power, performance cores capable of up to 5.1 GHz, and an NPU with 48 TOPS capacity.
