Denis Villeneuve, who made a big impact with the Dune movie series, seems to have rolled up his sleeves for the sequel. The latest information revealed that a new deal has been made between Warner Bros. and Denis Villeneuve.
Denis Villeneuve is ready for Dune 3
Warner Bros. is back at the table with Denis Villeneuve, targeting December 2026 for his next project. Although not yet officially announced, this project is thought to be Dune 3.
It is known that development and casting talks are still in their early stages. However, the main cast of the series is expected to remain the same. In this context, a much bigger project is being prepared with the third production.
Villeneuve has done a very successful job of adapting the first Dune novel and its sequel Dune: Messiah into two movies. The first two Dune films broke box office records for Warner Bros. For example, the first production was the highest-grossing movie of the pandemic period.
Dune: Part Two reached an important threshold as the biggest live-action movie of the year so far. In addition, the two productions are thought to have grossed a total of $990 million.
In this context, Warner Bros. believes that the third movie will bear fruit. Of course, it is not clear for now whether the project planned for December 2026 is Dune 3.
