Google is set to launch its latest Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro models this summer. While the leaks about the flagship models continue, the real images of the Pixel 8 Pro have finally emerged. The images shared on Reddit revealed the front and back design of Google’s smartphone.
Google Pixel 8 Pro comes with flat screen and temperature sensor
Starting with the back of the device, we can see that there is a sticker that says “For Testing/Evaluation Only”. This indicates that the prototype was provided by Google for testing purposes. In addition, the codename ‘Zuma’ on the back indicates the Tensor 3 chipset that powers the Pixel 8 Pro.
Another important feature of the prototype was the sensor placed under the flash. With this sensor, the Pixel 8 Pro seems to measure the user’s body temperature. It’s worth noting that there’s also a matte and textured pattern on the back. However, this design could be specific to the test units.
On the front of the phone is the fast boot screen. The screen, which shows that the codename of the Pixel 8 Pro model is “Husky”, includes Android tests. The fastboot panel also reveals that the phone has 12GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of SK-Hynix UFS 3.0 internal storage.
The image leaked on Reddit suggests that the Pixel 8 Pro will not feature a curved screen, unlike previous models. Google will prefer a 6.7-inch flat screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Earlier reports claimed that the device will feature Samsung’s ISOCELL GN2 50-megapixel camera instead of the GN1 sensor. This means it will get 35 per cent better light when taking photos in low light.
Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 8 family in the coming months and go on sale in October.
