Fortnite has recently been in the news with claims of movies and series. With its colorful graphics, fast gameplay, and collaborations with many franchises, the popular battle-royale game all around the world may have given the first signal for a movie.
Epic executive: Making a Fortnite movie is very easy
Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, spoke for the first time about the adaptation of the battle-royale game. Epic Games’ Creative Director Donald Mustard said in an interview that there is no active plan for a Fortnite movie. However, he emphasized that they are always open to an adaptation project.
Donald Mustard pointed out that Epic Games is currently focused on the game. He stated that they prioritize upcoming seasons, events, and updates for Fortnite. Mustard also claimed that “any studio would greenlight the movie adaptation in a second.”
The Russo brothers, known for Marvel movies, own a studio called AGBO. Epic Games has a significant financial investment in AGBO. This means that a big-budget Fortnite movie could be directed by the Russo brothers.
Although there is no plan for the adaptation yet, Mustard detailed how a Fortnite movie could be. He emphasized the importance of “engaging storytelling,” as seen in various seasons and episodes of the game.
The popular battle-royale production has collaborated with many franchises, from Marvel to Star Wars. A possible series or movie project for Fortnite could also stimulate the gaming industry.
