Xiaomi is preparing to expand its tablet portfolio with a new compact model for international markets. According to recent reports, the company will bring the Redmi K Pad, launched in China earlier this year, to global markets under the name Xiaomi Pad Mini. Here are the details.
The Xiaomi Pad Mini Will Also Stand Out with Its Performance
Leaks suggest that the new tablet, which hasn’t yet been officially announced, will be unveiled alongside the Xiaomi 15T series later this month, likely on September 24th. The Pad Mini is also said to have similar hardware to the Redmi K Pad.
If the rumors are true, the Xiaomi Pad Mini’s specifications could include:
- An 8.8-inch LCD display with a 2.5K resolution and a smooth 165Hz refresh rate.
- A powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset.
- A 7,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
Furthermore, with its all-metal body, 13MP rear camera, and 8MP front camera, the device is expected to be a tablet that strikes a good balance between portability and performance. On the software front, it’s expected to ship with Android 15-based HyperOS 2.
With competition intensifying in the compact tablet market, the Xiaomi Pad Mini will face strong competition from Apple’s iPad Mini and RedMagic’s Astra tablet. While Xiaomi may lack some extra features like a SIM card slot or an OLED display, its high-end internals and more affordable price could make it stand out.
