Every year, Samsung launches new flagship devices, including foldable, phones, and tablets. The company is expected to announce its new high-end tablet series later this year with the Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Z Fold5. Galaxy Tab S9 series will be powered by the modified Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
While the new tablet series is likely to come with improved performance, newer software, and an IP68 rating, the series appeared on the listings with the same chipset as the Galaxy S23. According to the Geekbench 6 listings, the Galaxy Tab S9 (SM-X716B) has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy (codename Kalama) chipset with 8GB RAM.
The chipset has a 3.36GHz clock speed for the prime CPU core, 2.8GHz clock speed for its four high-performance cores, and 2GHz clock speed for its three power-efficient cores. We see that the vanilla model gets 1,929 points single-core score and a 4,735-point multi-core score. Additionally, the S9 tablet runs Android 13-based One UI 5.1.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (SM-X916B) comes with the same chipset and RAM option as the vanilla model. The upcoming Ultra device managed 2,054 points single-core score and a 5,426-point multicore score on the Geekbench listings.
According to expectations, the Ultra variant will feature a similar design to its predecessor. Tab S8 Ultra might feature a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED display. Also, it is expected to have an 11,200mAh battery with 45W charging.
