The countdown has officially begun for Samsung’s new foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Previous reports about the device suggest that there will be some changes, particularly to the cover display. In addition, the phone recently appeared in performance tests.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has been spotted in the Geekbench database with the model number SM-F766B. The smartphone scored 2,356 points in single-core tests and 8,076 points in multi-core tests.

It’s been reported that the prototype tested on Geekbench is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 processor. The model will come with 12 GB of RAM and will run Android 16 right out of the box.

According to information shared by AndroidHeadlines, the cover screen on the Z Flip 7 has been redesigned. The 3.4-inch display on the previous Z Flip 6 was limited due to its proximity to the camera module. In contrast, the new model will feature a 4-inch square-shaped cover screen that nearly stretches edge to edge.

There are no major changes in other design aspects of the phone. Instead of starting from scratch, Samsung is continuing with the current design. While the Z Fold 7 is moving toward a thinner build, the Z Flip 7 is expected to retain its 6.9 mm thickness when unfolded, meaning there will be no change in dimensions.

The Z Flip 7 is expected to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy (Snapdragon 8 Elite) in some regions and with the Exynos 2500 in others. Moreover, the battery capacity will reportedly increase from 4,000 mAh to 4,300 mAh.

Samsung is expected to unveil Android 16-based One UI 8 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The company is said to launch these devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for early July.
