Galaxy Z Flip 8 Processor Revealed

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung has officially announced its new generation Exynos 2600 processor, based on 2nm architecture. According to information from South Korean sources, this new chipset will be at the heart of the Galaxy Z Flip 8, a foldable phone model planned for release this summer.

The company’s similar strategy last year, using the Exynos 2500 only in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, demonstrates the continuity of the brand’s processor policy. On the other hand, the higher-end Galaxy Z Flip 8 continues to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

The primary motivation behind this distinction is cost management. It is stated that the unit cost of the new generation Snapdragon chipsets produced by Qualcomm has reached $280, and depending on order terms, this figure approaches $300.

For the Flip series, which is launched with a more accessible price tag compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the processor cost at this level significantly restricts profit margins. Samsung alleviates this cost pressure and strengthens its hardware independence with its own Exynos 2600.

The Exynos 2600 also offers remarkable improvements in performance data. Developed with a 2nm manufacturing process, the processor promises a 39% increase in CPU performance and a 113% increase in AI processing compared to the previous generation.

On the graphics side, it is stated that GPU computing power has doubled and ray tracing performance has been improved by 50%. Furthermore, thanks to the new heat transfer technology called Heat Path Block (HPB), the chip’s thermal resistance is reduced by 16%, resulting in more stable performance under heavy load.

Samsung’s biggest challenge is seen as achieving the desired production efficiency; this directly determines the region and range of models in which the processor will be used.
