Game prices in Turkey have become a global topic!

Ana sayfa / News

Game prices in Turkey have spiraled out of control, especially after Steam abandoned its regional pricing for our country. The situation has escalated further with Sony PlayStation’s recent price hikes, drawing global attention.

Ameer A., an editor known from sites like Video Games Tracker and Game Pass Tracker, shared various posts on social media to amplify the voices of Turkish gamers. The continuously rising game prices on the PlayStation front have not only caught the attention of our country but also the global media.

This week, Ameer A. posted a tweet from his personal social media account highlighting Turkey’s minimum wage (citing the old minimum wage as $400) and criticizing the fact that game prices have reached $85. Ameer argued that it has become impossible to buy games under these conditions in Turkey and that these prices should be considered ‘illegal.’

Three games worth a total of 2400 TL are free with Amazon Prime!

The long-awaited day for Amazon Prime subscribers has finally come: Three games worth a total of 2400 TL are now free.

Continuing his tweets on the subject, the editor noted that games on PC and Xbox are $25-30 cheaper and urged Sony to take immediate action regarding this issue.

Ameer stated that demanding higher game fees from countries with worse economic conditions than others is ‘price exploitation,’ and he received support from many gamers, both Turkish and international, across Twitter (X).

So far, it has rarely been seen that any platform has reduced game prices at any given time (except during discount periods). Therefore, how game prices in our country will trend remains a topic of curiosity.
