Valve has been rumored to be working on a new multiplayer shooter for some time. Leaks for this game, which will offer an Overwatch-like experience, continue to come. A video shared on X revealed gameplay footage of Valve Deadlock.
Deadlock gameplay video leaked
Valve, which emphasizes secrecy when developing new games, can’t stop Deadlock from leaking. Last week, it was claimed that Deadlock started closed beta testing. Finally, a gameplay video allegedly from the beta test has leaked on social media.
Deadlock looks to have a 6v6 multiplayer format with players fighting in four different arenas. Characters will have different abilities and players will strengthen their characters with items they find on the map. It also features tower defense elements.
The game looks like it will compete with Overwatch in general. Playable characters will range from creatures to mechanized robots. Fast travel between regions will also be possible.
Some of the 10 characters introduced in the leak are similar to the classes in Team Fortress 2. For example, a robot looks like a Spy, while a fiery character seems to have something in common with the Pyro.
For now, it’s unclear whether Deadlock is an actual Valve project. While the company has yet to make an official announcement, it makes sense that it would want to expand its multiplayer experience after Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike 2.
