Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, developed by MachineGames, was voted Best Game of 2024 by players in a tournament at Gamescom. The action-adventure title received nearly 55 percent of the vote, beating Game Awards winner Astro Bot.

A community vote victory for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle meant it missed out on a nomination at the Game Awards due to its late-year release. But the game was praised for bringing the iconic franchise back into the spotlight.
Even though Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been critically acclaimed, it has lagged behind MachineGames’ previous titles in terms of player numbers. According to Steam data, the game’s concurrent player count reached 8148 at the highest point.
One of the main reasons for this is the game’s high minimum system requirements and the mandatory use of ray tracing. In addition, the fact that the game was offered on the Game Pass platform from the first day seems to be one of the factors affecting the number of players on Steam.
Before Indiana Jones and The Great Circle faced Astro Bot in the final of the Gamescom tournament, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth before facing Astro Bot in the final. This shows that it is popular among players.
