Sony’s next-generation game console, the PS5 Pro, was recently revealed and promises significant improvements to gamers. Digital Foundry has analyzed in detail the changes in the games shown in the PS5 Pro promotional video. So, what kind of improvement are we talking about? Will the PS5 Pro be enough to meet the expectations of gamers?

First of all, tests conducted on The Last of Us Part 2, Gran Turismo 7, Alan Wake 2 and many other games gave clues about the power of the PS5 Pro. Especially thanks to Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology, the visual quality in games has increased significantly compared to previous generations.

For example, The Last of Us Part 2 runs at 60 fps at 1440p resolution, as on PS5, but this time, thanks to PSSR, the visual quality has been taken to a whole new level. In other words, both high resolution and a smooth experience will no longer be an urban legend.

Another notable game is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart . The resolution in this game varies between 1440p and 1800p, offering 60 fps performance. On PS5, it could be played at the same resolutions at up to 40 fps. Moreover, thanks to PSSR technology, games reach almost 4K quality.

Perhaps one of the most striking innovations is the improvements in Gran Turismo 7. This game supports up to 8K resolution on PS5 Pro. It also becomes more detailed and vibrant than ever with more realistic ray tracing effects. This is a feature that will really make you feel the power of PS5 Pro, especially for those who love racing games.

Hogwarts Legacy also appears to have more advanced ray tracing effects. The shadow and reflection quality are much clearer. These impressive visuals, offered in 30 fps mode, may prompt some players to switch to 60 fps mode for a smoother experience, but some visual effects may have to be sacrificed.

We also feel the power of the PS5 Pro in games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Dragon’s Dogma 2. Both games offer a smooth experience at 60 fps and reach 4K quality by utilizing the power of PSSR technology on the resolution side.
