Nintendo category will be missing this year at Gamescom 2024
As is normally the case with other video game-based events, Gamescom organizes an awards ceremony every year for the best games presented during the event. But this year, unfortunately, the category for the best games for Nintendo Switch will be missing.
The Nintendo Switch category is currently not among the nominees announced for the Gamescom 2024 Awards. The organizers of the event said, “There were very few games to choose from in this year’s best Nintendo Switch games category. The Commission has therefore decided to cancel this category.”
This remarkable decision taken by the organizers is due to the candidate event that will compete for Nintendo Switch. In fact, although there is no new game problem for Switch this year, the company’s decision not to take part in the event seems to have led to a decrease in the number of nominees to compete in the awards ceremony and, in fact, the removal of this category altogether.
