Asus has announced that it plans to release the second-generation ROG Ally later this year. Asus Vice President Arnold Su stated that they will offer a much more powerful portable game console this year and its name will be ROG Ally 2.
Arnold Su stated that the gaming experience will increase with the new device and that the Windows support that made the first model popular will continue. According to the executive, the company has sold 70 to 80 thousand units of ROG Ally since its launch last year.
Asus Vice President also stated that gaming laptops are currently surpassing gaming computers in terms of popularity. He explained that while older generations of gamers still gravitate towards desktop computers, today’s gamers prefer the portability offered by laptops.
ROG Ally offers players two different APU options. The first option is the 6-core AMD Ryzen Z1 processor. The second model has the higher-end 8-core AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor. ROG XG Mobile, which includes the GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU, is used as the graphics card.
