Geekom A9 Mega mini-PC launches with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and 128 GB RAM

Geekom has officially taken the wraps off the A9 Mega, its most powerful mini-PC yet. First teased last month, the system builds on the A9 Max with a significant performance boost, courtesy of AMD’s Strix Halo platform. Inside its compact 171 x 171 x 70.9 mm case, the A9 Mega carries the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU paired with 128 GB of RAM, making it one of the most ambitious small-form-factor PCs on the market.

Unlike the A9 Max, which launched through standard retail channels, the A9 Mega is debuting via Kickstarter. Early backers can secure the system for $1,899, reflecting a $200 discount from its planned MSRP. The company expects to begin shipments in November 2025.

Interestingly, Geekom is only offering the A9 Mega in a single SKU, despite earlier hints at multiple configurations. That means buyers will get the same Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU and 128 GB of RAM across all orders.

DDR5 RAM sticks with OLED displays debut as XFinity+ modules from V-color and Gigabyte, launching in Q3 2025.

The A9 Mega isn’t short on connectivity. Its chassis includes:

Storage is also flexible, thanks to two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slots and an M.2 2230 slot that ships populated with a Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 module. Out of the box, Kickstarter backers receive a system with 2 TB of storage alongside the 128 GB memory.

By combining its Ryzen AI Max+ APU with a hefty memory allocation, Geekom positions the A9 Mega as a rival to other Strix Halo-powered systems like the GMKtec EVO-X2. The inclusion of dual Ethernet ports, USB 4 connectivity, and Wi-Fi 7 gives it a clear edge in networking and future-proofing.

With the A9 Mega, Geekom is showing it’s ready to move beyond entry-level compact PCs and into the performance-heavy tier. Backers will need to wait until November to get their hands on the system, but with specs like these, the A9 Mega may prove to be one of the most capable mini-PCs released in 2025.
