Gemini can now launch Google Assistant Routines

Ana sayfa / News

Gemini, which Google introduced to Android devices last year, did not support Google Assistant’s routine launch feature. Fortunately, Google has released an important update to fill this gap. Gemini users will now be able to easily launch Google Now routines.

Google is rolling out a new update for Gemini that allows users to start Google Assistant routines. The innovation was also confirmed on Google’s Gemini support page. In the statement, it is stated that Gemini can now start routines using Google Assistant. Currently, voice commands can be used to start these routines or they can be managed through the Google Home app.

However, some routine initiators and actions are not yet supported by Gemini. For example, it is currently not possible to start routines with written commands, to start routines at specific times (such as sunrise or sunset) or in specific locations, or to start routines using home screen shortcuts. Also, some actions such as playing music, radio or podcasts, sharing fitness and sleep stats are not supported.

Gemini users can follow Settings > Google Assistant Features in Gemini > Routines to set up or edit Google Assistant routines. This feature may not be immediately active for every user, so some users may not yet receive this update. A review by Android Authority in June found that this feature was hidden in lines of code, so it has been in development for some time.
