Gemini Live gains Google app access on Android and iOS

Gemini Live is now widely rolling out access to several Google apps, including Calendar, Tasks, and Keep. The update expands the AI’s ability to interact with personal information in real time, moving it closer to the functionality of the text-based Gemini experience.

Announced at Google I/O 2025, the feature allows users to create Calendar events, set Tasks reminders, and save notes to Keep through live conversations. It also supports retrieving information stored in these apps. Google Maps integration lets you ask for location details without leaving the conversation.

GPT-4o will return to ChatGPT after backlash over its removal in favor of GPT-5, says OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

On Samsung devices, the AI also connects with Calendar, Notes, and Reminders. This integration takes it from answering general questions to acting on personal data in context. Some users began seeing the change in late June, though the rollout was gradual. By mid-July’s first Gemini Drop, many still lacked access.

Now available functions include:

When triggered, a chip above the full-screen controls shows the app name and a loading indicator. Certain actions, like creating a list, include an “Undo” button. You can call the apps by name or use general prompts such as “Do I have any reminders today?”

App access works alongside video and screen sharing. For example, you can set a Calendar event while looking at a date in the real world or on your screen. The feature is now rolling out on both the stable and beta Google app for Android, as well as on iOS.
