As AI continues to evolve, it’s becoming increasingly common in mobile devices. With ChatGPT supporting both Android and iOS, and Samsung’s Galaxy AI features, it was only a matter of time before Google’s Gemini Live became available for free. Last week, Google announced that the Gemini Live app would be released for free to users, and it has now been seen first on Android. Here are the details…
Gemini Live First Seen on Android Pixel 6 Pro
Before the launch of Google’s Gemini Live, users had noticed 10 different voice options under the Gemini settings. Recent reports indicate that Gemini Live is now available for free. Initially, it is being rolled out in the U.S. on Pixel 6 Pro models and can be used without any cost.
When you access the Gemini app, you’ll find a wave icon in the lower right corner of the screen. This icon allows you to access Gemini Live. During startup, you can choose a voice and use commands such as Start or Pause, and you can also use the Stop command to end the conversation.
Additionally, in the Gemini settings, you’ll see the “Stop Live Responses” button, which is enabled by default. Currently, Gemini Live is only available for free on a limited number of devices and is not accessible for iOS users yet. However, after its full release on Android, it’s likely to be made available for iOS as well, since a shortcut for the Gemini app has already been added to the iOS home screen.
If you want to test it out before the free version is released, Gemini Live is already available to Gemini Advanced subscribers, but it’s currently only accessible on Pixel phones and select Galaxy devices. If you don’t have a Samsung or Pixel device, you would need to subscribe for a monthly fee of 719.99 TL to use this feature.
