At the Google I/O 2024 event held last May, Google introduced exciting features for the next-generation AI model Gemini Live on the mobile platform. New leaks from Google suggest that the company might be working on features that could put it 3-4 steps ahead of its competitor, Apple Intelligence. Here are the new details on those features…
Gemini Live May Transform Smartphones with AI
Since its initial announcement, there hasn’t been much news from Google about Gemini Live. However, some code lines in one of Google’s newly released applications hint at new features for Gemini Live.
The code lines discovered in Gemini Live point to two important features: Speed and natural background operation…
With Gemini, you will be able to continue voice chatting while using other applications. For instance, while searching for something on Chrome, you can ask Gemini a question aloud and receive voice responses without interrupting your screen. This will provide a natural experience, as if you were having a voice call in the background while being engaged with your smartphone.
Another intriguing feature found in the code lines is the ability to communicate with Google Gemini Live even when your phone’s screen is locked. This means you’ll have access to Google applications such as Google Maps, Google Flights, Google Hotels, and YouTube. For example, even if your phone is out of reach, you can ask Gemini Live to play a song for you on YouTube.
What do you think about these features leaked from Google? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
