Sucker Punch Productions and Nixxes Software have released the second major title update for Ghost of Tsushima PC. Although the game has been out for less than two weeks, Nixxes has already addressed various issues that players reported following its release on Steam and Epic Games Store.

The latest title update primarily addresses AMD-specific issues that many players with Team Red GPUs have been experiencing. While Ghost of Tsushima was released in a polished state, which is rare for modern PC ports, there were still a few issues that caused the game to stutter and crash in some instances.

Ghost of Tsushima PC, much like Nixxes Software’s previous PC ports, launched with minimal major issues for most players. However, the game wasn’t entirely flawless, with some players reporting memory leaks, stuttering, and VRAM-related crashes. The first major title update (v1053.0.0522.1042), released on May 23, 2024, primarily addressed crashing issues related to FSR3 Frame Generation. The latest title update (v1053.2.0524.1422) continues to address these problems.

In addition to fixing the crashing issues on AMD GPUs, the latest title update also addresses connectivity and stability issues in the Legends multiplayer mode. The update is less than 100 megabytes, which isn’t surprising given the minimal changes.

After installing the update, the game doesn’t go through a shader pre-compilation step, indicating that the changes to the game’s code are minimal and don’t require refreshing shaders. The update also includes under-the-hood optimizations, improving the game’s performance since release.

Despite some controversy regarding the PSN requirement for Legends, the quality of the port has impressed players worldwide, with the game even being playable on the Steam Deck. Nixxes Software has a strong track record with PC titles, and their recent PC releases, including Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima, have been hailed as 2024’s best PC ports by many players. While both titles had minor issues at launch, Nixxes has been quick to address them.

In summary, the second major update for Ghost of Tsushima PC brings important fixes and improvements, particularly for AMD GPU users and the Legends multiplayer mode. The small update size and lack of shader pre-compilation indicate efficient and targeted enhancements, further solidifying Nixxes Software’s reputation for high-quality PC ports.
