DJI has released an important software update for its compact drone model Neo. Weighing just 135 grams, the Neo is one of DJI’s lightest drones, making it a popular choice for hobbyists and those who want to track fast-moving objects. The new update adds faster flight speed, improved tracking capabilities and many other improvements to the user experience. Here are the details
Big update for DJI Neo: Increased speed, improved tracking
First of all, the most anticipated innovation of the update is the support for Goggles N3. With the update package with version number v01.00.0400, DJI Neo can now be used with Goggles N3. The new FPV goggles have a much better tracking capability than the Neo’s previous Goggles 3 goggles.
In addition, the live image stabilization feature, which is available with both Goggles N3 and Goggles 3, ensures a more stable image when flying with FPV goggles. DJI also brought new features for tracking mode users. With the update, Neo’s flight speed during tracking has been increased.
With this feature, the drone can synchronize faster with the object being tracked. In addition, Neo has added a vertical shooting mode, making it ideal for social media content. In other words, it allows users to shoot videos directly for social media platforms.
During live streaming, full manual control is available via DJI Mobile App Control, allowing users to change framing, focus and other settings on the fly. Finally, Neo can record audio when used with DJI RC-N3 or RC-N2 controllers. With this feature, DJI enables the inclusion of environmental sounds in audio recordings, while the noise reduction feature minimizes unwanted noises.
