Huawei is preparing to launch its long-awaited new flagship devices and its self-developed operating system, HarmonyOS, in November: In this context, the official release date for the next-generation operating system, HarmonyOS Next, which is expected to accompany some of these devices, has been announced. Here’s what you need to know…
HarmonyOS Next is coming on October 22!
First introduced in 2019 for Honor Smart TVs and later expanded to wireless routers, HarmonyOS was made available for Huawei-manufactured smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches starting in June 2021.
In the early 2020s, following a trade war between the US and China, Huawei was practically ostracized, leading to a break with Google. Without access to services like the Play Store, the company decided to develop its own operating system.
After reaching over 1 billion devices in nearly five years, the official release date for HarmonyOS Next has been announced. The new operating system will be unveiled on October 22, 2024.
Lastly, rumors have surfaced that Huawei’s new-generation Nova 13 and Nova 13 Pro series may also be introduced on the same day. We expect the Chinese tech giant to make a comprehensive announcement on this date.
