The second season of HBO’s highly anticipated series The Last of Us has ended. The countdown has begun for the series, which has completed the production phase of the new season. Throughout 2024, it’s time for the crew to call it a day after a grueling shooting schedule in various parts of Canada.
Recent reports indicated that The Last of Us season 2 filming was nearing completion. However, it is now officially stated that the production phase is over. Now the post-production process has begun, where visual effects and much more work will be carried out.
When will the new season of The Last of Us air?
To celebrate this important milestone, Timothy Good from The Last of Us team posted on social media a few photos from a recent celebration party to let fans know that filming is over. Good also signaled that the editing phase will begin very soon.
While the new episodes have been completed, unfortunately, The Last of Us season 2 air date has still not been officially announced. At the moment, HBO has only generally confirmed that the acclaimed television series will return in 2025. Although no exact date has been set yet, based on the timing of the first season, it seems likely that the highly anticipated new episodes will air in the first half of 2025.
