Google Camera gets a modern makeover with Pixel 8

Ana sayfa / Android

According to a new report, Google will implement a major design change to the Google Camera app with the launch of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro models. This change, which will make the user interface much more modern, will also facilitate one-handed control.

New Google Camera UI puts controls at bottom of screen for one-handed using

The most notable change in the camera app is that key controls such as the settings menu and mode selector screen have been moved to the bottom of the screen for one-handed operation. Settings can now be accessed by swiping up from the bottom left corner. Just above this is a new photo/video mode switch option.

The mode selector bar has also been moved above the settings and is now located above the camera button. Modes such as Action Pan, Long Exposure and Night Sight are more prominently visible in this bar.

Google Pixel Watch 2 specs and design leak ahead of launch

While Google is preparing to introduce its new smartwatch in the coming months, the features of the Pixel Watch 2 model have been revealed.

While the shutter button remains the same, the front/rear camera switch button has been moved to the right side and the shot preview to the left side. The zoom controls are still located above the camera button.

In addition to the design changes, Google said it is also working on HDR and white balance algorithms to improve image quality. For example, it is testing a new “Adaptive touch” feature to prevent overexposed photos in low light.

Google Camera is the software giant’s camera app for pure Android. Although it is the default on Pixel or pure Android devices, it should be noted that many manufacturers have developed their own camera app. However, you can also manually install this app on your phone.

The new Camera design will be distributed with the release of the Pixel 8 later this year. It is also expected to come to models such as Pixel 6.
