Google has added two brand new features to Google Chat to make team communication more efficient. Google Chat can now be used not only for chatting, but also for summarizing messages, identifying tasks and quickly highlighting important details in conversations with the support of artificial intelligence. Here are the details
Gemini artificial intelligence support coming to Google Chat will summarize chats quickly
The most notable new feature is Gemini AI, which Google has successfully integrated into its other apps (Gmail, Drive, Docs). Google Chat users can now summarize long conversations and list their assigned tasks by activating Gemini in the chat window.
Gemini’s innovations will make it easier to quickly find information, especially in busy team chats. For example, a user can get support from Gemini by asking questions such as “What are the most important points in this conversation?” or “Are there any tasks assigned to me?”.
Thus, without having to read messages one by one, they will be able to see the points of interest directly. In addition, detailed questions such as “Who said what?” can also be answered through Gemini. At the moment, however, Gemini can only analyze messages visible in the chat window. It does not have access to Gmail or Drive content.
Meanwhile, the feature will be available to Google Workspace users. In fact, those with Gemini Business and Enterprise editions already have access to the new AI features as of November 1. On the visual side, Google Chat introduces two new viewing modes to enrich the user experience: Comfortable and Compact.
The default Comfort mode aligns messages on the left and right over a wider area, making the difference between messages more noticeable. Compact mode aligns all messages on the left and separates them with color differences, making more content visible.
