Google is taking a step to solve a common problem faced by users with a new tab organizing feature in Chrome. The new ‘Tab Declutter’ feature, designed for Android users, aims to reduce browser tab clutter and improve the user experience.
Google Chrome to introduce tab organizing feature
The eternal battle against excessive browser tabs will soon find a resolution at Google. For Chrome users on Android, the annoying tab clutter will soon end without the need for manual intervention.
Google Chrome for Android is testing a feature called ‘Tab Declutter’ to simplify tab management for users. This feature aims to reduce chaos and clutter in the browser by automatically archiving unused tabs.
With ‘Tab Declutter,’ users can focus only on tabs they are actively using. Archived tabs will be easily accessible when needed. This new system automatically decides which tabs will be archived.
This way, users won’t need to manually close each tab. Google had made a similar attempt in 2020, but this new approach is more aggressive, managing tabs without the user’s consent.
Although there is no official announcement yet, the Google Chrome tab organizing feature might be included in the expected 125th version of Chrome, set to release in May. This step by Google will be a significant convenience, especially for users who work with many tabs.
